Directions for use

Your Flowclean Tractor Cab Chemical Filter (TCCF) must only be used after you have read and understood all the relevant usage and maintenance requirements of these filters. It is also necessary to comply with the relevant Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the chemical you are using, as well as any relevant government requirements.

  • General

To ensure maximum safety and efficiency, use your TCCF when operating in hazardous conditions. When not in use, it is advisable to store your cab filter in an air-tight bag to protect it from dust and contaminants. Never allow the TCCF to get wet, as moisture can compromise its filtering capabilities.

If you detect any chemical smell inside the cab while using the carbon air filter, stop the operation immediately and investigate the source of the odour. Prompt action in such cases can prevent potential risks and ensure a safe working environment.

  • Daily Maintenance Requirements

For your safety during daily maintenance procedures of your TCCF, always wear personal protective equipment (PPE). To ensure proper upkeep of your carbon filters, follow the following steps:

    1. Remove the TCCF from its housing and conduct a thorough inspection.
    2. If the filter appears dusty, remove the primary (black) and secondary (white if fitted) filter pads and clean gently using compressed air. If the dust is not effectively removed, you can wash the primary filter with warm water, ensuring it dries thoroughly. DO NOT WET the secondary filter or the carbon part of the filter.
    3. With the dust pads removed, carefully blow air through the carbon to remove any trapped particles.
    4. If your TCCF is equipped with an indicator cell, check its colour and compare it with the provided colour chart to determine if it needs replacement.
    5. Inspect all seals on the carbon air filter, and if any appear damaged or worn, replace them promptly to ensure a proper seal.
    6. Reinstall the dust filter pads once they are clean and dry.
    7. Carefully refit the TCCF back into its housing, ensuring it is securely in place.
    8. Lastly, remember to fill in the Maintenance Log Sheet, recording the date, maintenance performed, and any relevant observations.
  • Reconditioning or Replacement

Once the activated carbon in your TCCF becomes saturated, it is essential to take prompt action to maintain its effectiveness. Saturation is evidenced by:

    1. The chemical smell in the cab
    2. The indicator cell shows that the filter is exhausted
    3. The filter has been installed for 400 hours or 12 months

When any of these signs are evident, it is crucial to act promptly. Return the TCCF to your local dealer, who will facilitate the reconditioning process or supply you with a new unit.
